What a weird looking fish!
“The barreleye fish, already known as a species but filmed in the deep for the first time by the Monterey Bay aquarium research institute. The green orbs are its eyes, directed upwards to detect its prey in silhouette through its transparent head”

Inside Nature’s Giants -The Crocodile

Watched this programme on 4od tonight and it was awesome. Dissecting a crocodile, get to see it’s insides and how it’s evolved into what it is. Nature’s amazing. We also found out how this particular guy died.

There were a bunch of teenagers watching the dissection take place and it would have been brilliant to have seen something like this when at school.

I love how we can find and watch these at our leisure now with services like 4od and iplayer. Will be watching the others in the series, elephant, whale and a giraffe!
